Benefits of Reflexology
There are many benefits that might be gained after a reflexology treatment. This might show as an improved circulation, Improved sleep, and being more capable of managing the day to day stress in our lives.
It may also help to promote good muscle tone, which is especially useful during times of illness, old age and people with sedentary lifestyles.
It is particularly good for stress related conditions, helping the person to cope with their life. It might also help the process of elimination to work more efficiently.
Reflexology might also help to lessen pain, swelling and inflammation. It may be of help to stimulate the lymphatic system, which may help to reduce oedema which is one of the body’s natural reactions to injury.
Reflexology is holistic therapy, therefore it treats the whole person by bringing harmony to the physical, mental and emotional being, this is called homeostasis (Equilibrium / Harmony).

It also appears to work on the energy system known in India as 'Prana', in China as 'Qi energy' and in the West simply as 'life force'.
Reflexology may stabilise a person’s energy, which may be lacking or in a state of unbalance.
When a practitioner makes contact with a person’s feet, a flow of energy exists between them and the person will feel a great sense of calmness, warmth and relaxation.
Reflexology is a safe and gentle therapy, which may be used virtually for every health problem without any adverse side effects.
Also many people simply use reflexology for the relaxation it brings and in many cases it has helped to promote continuing good health.
On your first visit there is a preliminary talk with the Reflexologist. He/she then begins to work on your feet, or hands if necessary, noting problem areas.
There may be discomfort in some places, but it is fleeting, and is an indication of congestion or imbalance in a corresponding part of the body.
For the most part, the sensation is pleasant and soothing.
